Rock And Surf fishing spot
Victoria Bay's rocky point is one of the storied garrick venues of the southern Cape. The deep water sweeping past the point brings the fish within range of the rocks from November through April — live mullet under a float or big surface plugs at first light are the classic methods. Kob feed in the deeper water after dark, and shad run through in autumn.
The protected corner of the bay lets you fish comfortably in most conditions, and the point also gives up blacktail, zebra and bream on lighter tackle.
Space on the point is limited and it's popular in season, so early arrival matters. Parking is at the bottom of the steep access road (arrive early in holiday season). Keep clear of the surfers' line-up — the wave here is famous too.
