Gericke's Point near Sedgefield is a spectacular sandstone outcrop jutting into deep water — one of the most productive and photogenic rock venues on the coast. It's a renowned galjoen spot in winter, with blacktail, zebra and bream year-round in the washes. Kob hunt the deeper water alongside the point after dark, and musselcracker test heavy tackle off the seaward ledges.

Red bait, sand prawn and wonderworm are the go-to baits for the edge species; fresh chokka and live baits for the kob.

Critical: the point is reached along the beach and gets cut off around high tide — plan your session around low water and keep an eye on the time. The climb over the rocks needs decent footwear. Permits from the post office.

⚠️ Safety: HIGH RISK in swell: watch every wave, fish with a partner, never fish big sea alone
